Wi-fi devices cannot access other Wi-Fi devices on LAN

0

For some reason, my Wi-Fi devices usually can't access each other even though they all have access to the Internet. I have 2 routers:

  1. Is a wired-only router that is also the gateway to the Internet.

  2. Is the Wi-Fi but it doesn't act as a router--only a hub and its WAN port is disabled. One of its LAN ports is connected to the other router.

I've tried to search for problems like this, but they all seem to centre around Windows problems. None of my devices are Windows--only Android and Linux.

My research has also lead me to this "client isolation" option that some routers have. Neither router has this option or anything that looks like it might be this option.

I've ruled out IP address conflicts. I'm monitored them carefully, and they all use DHCP anyway. They use the DHCP server for router #1. I've disabled DHCP on router #2.

Using ping, I've confirmed that all of my Wi-Fi devices seem to be able to access all the wired devices and vice versa. Ping times out when one Wi-Fi device tries to ping another. To make things even more confusing, the problem is intermittent--happening during most of the day, but not at night!

Somehow router #1 is somehow key. It's new and the problem happened only have it replaced the previous one.

Router #1: SR515ac

Router #2: TL-WR340G
