Windows 10 wakes from sleep seconds after initiated.. or maybe it's not sleeping at all?

0

I recently built a windows 10 pc. When I set it to go to sleep, the display shuts off, and it appears as if the pc is sleeping.. then only a few seconds later, turns on again. I can do this perpetually.

Thus far most of my troubleshooting has been command prompt:

I've tried powercfg –lastwake (this should show you what caused the last wake) it shows 0 occurrences - as if it never went to sleep in the first place..

So then I then tried powercfg -devicequery wake_armed (AS ADMIN) (which should in theory show you what is able to wake your system), and saw just network adapter and keyboard/mouse. device manager-> Disabled adapter, and slept computer then unplugged the dongle for the mouse/keyboard.. and it woke up..

I then tried powercfg -requests (which should in theory tell you what's keeping it from sleeping) - nothing!

I can power down the computer without issue (nothing prevents it from shutting down). I have chrome and word open, but nothing else in window form at least.

Does anyone have any idea what the heck might be going on or what next steps I can take? I've searched through SE and SU and I'm coming up short on useful answers..
