Cannot use Remote Debugger or Attach to Process on Visual Studio 2017 on Windows 10
I am relatively new to Visual Studio so sorry if this is an easy one!
I am using a Windows 10 Pro PC with Visual Studio 2017 Professional
The option to 'Attach to Process' 1 does not have the option to change the 'Connection type' or 'Connection target' are both greyed out, so I tried to do it through the project properties 3 and then received the following error 4:
Microsoft Visual Studio
Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging.
Remote debugging is not supported.
OK
I have tried disabling the firewall, updating Visual Studio, check my network firewalls and there is nothing that I can see that is blocking it.
I am signed into a Windows 7 machine with the same credentials and the same version of visual studio and I can run the remote debugger fine to the Windows 10 PC and other machines on the network. 2
If you need more info let me know, any help on this will be greatly appreciated
