From 2016 to today (2019-01) this has changed and previous solutions no longer work. I've only found this tedious process that works for me:

          1. Pin any running Chrome to the task bar (regardless of what profile)

          2. Open %AppData%MicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick LaunchUser PinnedTaskBar

          3. Open Chrome's properties, extend the target with --profile-directory="Default"

          4. Change "Default" into the corresponding folder name from %userprofile%appdataLocalGoogleChromeUser Data, e.g. "Profile 1"

          5. For more than one pinned Chromes, copy this file and adapt
