share files from a Surface 3 tablet over a LAN to Linux

0

On a LAN, looking for a quick and dirty way to transfer files from a Microsoft Surface 3 (non-pro) tablet on to a Linux PC.

I've considered e-mailing the files, but kindof a hassle.

I use "regular" hard drives and a USB to sata connector cable. (The adapter cable takes power from a wall socket to power the hard drive.) However, I don't see a compatible port on the Surface.

(No USB thumb drives handy.)

So, looking for a quick-and-dirty software solution. While scp, secure copy, might be an option, also looking for an easy to configure, one time use solution.
