How to config Realtek RTL8101/2/6E PCI Express Fast/Gigabit Ethernet (Wi-Fi) on Mint?

0

I have the above USB card. On Windows it works.

On Mint, though...

So, I got the mini CD that came with the device and there are drivers folders for Windows, MAC OSX and Linux as general...

As there's a install.sh file inside the one that matters for the case, I followed a guide from wikiHow (https://www.wikihow.com/Execute-INSTALL.sh-Files-in-Linux-Using-Terminal) as follows:

After extracting: chmod +x install.sh
Then: sudo bash install.sh AND sudo ./install.sh (after got an error on first try)

The result is a bunch of errors along the process: PrintScreen

Also, if someone wants to check the files from REALTEK: https://mega.nz/#!fzJlSIiR!LKfvAcCtyu_EcXI3cXrNTByIDAjeU1_swo5jV3PN-qo

Does anybody have ideas on how to correct and make the USB Dongle works for Wi-Fi?

PS: I hope making those files available doesn't infringe any CopyRights...

  • So, about this all, I've discovered something... The Realtek I have described is actually the Ethernet (Cable) that I am using... I tried lspci with the dongle plugged and withou it... Now, I am gonna try to find ou why it's not being recognized by the system... I even tried the same USB port as where it, in this very day, has been used...

So, the guys from the Mint Forum, helped superbly along with the guys from VivaoLinux.com.br:

I prefer to live a response as this may help someone in the future! :D

        So, the steps are:

        cd rtl8188fu
        make
        sudo make install
