BitLocker Portable Hard Disk Issue

I put BitLocker on my Toshiba 500GB hard drive and after a few months I forgot and lost my password and recovery key. So I tried formatting the hard drive but the format was unsuccessful.

After this unsuccessful formatting, the hard drive doesn't appear in My Computer. It just shows the drive's name. The hard drive is working.

When I plug it into the USB port it says to format the drive to access, but it's no use. When I check my storage management it gets stuck. I tried the cmd method to reformat it, but that's also not working.

What can I do now?

You could try it on another windows or even on a linux machine. Format it as FAT32 in linux so windows can read it. That may be enough for Windows to see the drive and you can format it correctly using NTFS to get all the space back.
