Snoozable Google calendar notifications in Windows 10 without Gmail and Contacts permissions
I'd like to be able to view, dismiss and eventually snooze notifications from one of my Google calendars in Windows 10. It is possible to achieve in the default Windows Calendar app by adding a Google account to it. During adding, the dialog states that Windows will be able to:
Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail
See, edit, download, and permanently delete your contacts
See, edit, share, and permanently delete all the calendars you can access using Google Calendar
Make sure you trust Windows
That's a lot of permissions. In order to display reminders from a single calendar it is logically necessary to be able to access this Google calendar (only this calendar). But in practice, the Windows default Calendar app requires a ton of permissions. Or maybe this app asks only for calendar permissions, but Google generously gives other permissions and there is no way to accept only part of them. I don't know.
I also don't know what would happen in case of malware. Although I rather do trust Windows, if accidentally some malware gets installed on the computer, perhaps it would be able to make use of those permissions given to Windows and e.g. read/delete all Gmail.
I tried to fiddle with Windows settings for the Calendar app and e.g. not allow the "Mail and Calendar" and "People" apps to access "Calendar", but it didn't change anything according to permissions from Google.
I also tried a few other calendar apps from Windows 10 store, but they either don't have "Snooze" option in notifications (which is the option I use most often, unfortunately) or they don't integrate with Google calendar.
So I have a question. Is it possible to have snoozable notifications in Windows 10 about events and reminders from a Google calendar without giving all unnecessary permissions to Gmail and Contacts (and without creating a new Google account just for a single isolated calendar)?
