I have the following situation and would appreciate any ideas on how to troubleshoot this issue.

All Machines are located in the same network.

  • Win 10 > Mac (OS Mojave) ping timeouts

  • XUbuntu > Mac Destination Host Unreachable

  • Mac > Win request request timeout.

  • Mac > XUbuntu request request timeout.

    The following it's working fine,

  • Mac > Router ping OK

  • Win 10 > XUbuntu ping OK, ssh-ing to linux from win without problems.

  • XUbuntu > Win10 ping OK

  • Mac Internet OK

I have tried to following configs/changes without sucess:

Win 10 :

  • Disabled windows firewall.

  • I can ping the linux machine.

  • I can't ping the mac

    arp -a

    1**.*.*.163 --- 0x10
Linux > 1**.*.*.124 mac address looks ok
Mac > 1**.*.*.151 mac address looks ok
Router > 1**.*.*.254 mac address looks ok

Mac :

  • Disable firewall.

  • Wireless connection. I don't have a way to use a cable by now.

  • Enabled Remote Login, Remote Management, File Sharing.

  • Ping from Recovery mode terminal.

    arp -a

1**.*.*.124 at mac address OK < Linux
1**.*.*.163 at mac address OK < Win 10
1**.*.*.254 at mac address OK < Router

Linux :

  • Disable firewall.
** Notice here the mac address is incomplete, all machines have been assigned an IP dynamically and connected via wireless **

    arp -a

    1**.*.*.151 at **<incomplete>** on ** < Mac
1**.*.*.254 at mac address OK < Gateway
1**.*.*.163 at mac address OK < Win 10

  • Is your AP simultaneous dual-band, or do you have multiple APs? If so, does the problem happen when all 3 machines are on the same band of the same AP? If you are using WPA2/WPA "mixed mode", does the problem go away if you switch to WPA2 only (AES-CCMP only, no TKIP)?
