I have a Lenovo Thinkpad which is a couple of years old. I am having an issue where I am getting checker boxes randomly but regularly on the laptop display. I also get intermittent freezing with a message that the display has stopped responded but has recovered.

When the laptop uses an external monitor, there is no issue.

Any likely suspect on this issue?

Thanks.

  • Can you provide a puc with the boxes? If they are consistent and look like the IS windows its likely an os/driver issues, otherwise its likely a hardware issue.
