Crystal Reports US Zip Code Sorting
I am creating address labels in Crystal Reports but they will not sort correctly. My data source is a csv file exported from an online address list. Here is what I have done:
- Connected to the csv data source
- Created the address labels with the report wizard.
I have tried using the Sort Expert and selecting the "Zip Code" column in my data source. The problem is that in my csv file, the column "Zip Code" includes 5 digit numbers (example 02345) and 9 digit numbers (example 02345-1134). Crystal reports sorts all of the 9 digit zip codes in the first 6 pages and then all of the 5 digit zip codes in the last 11 pages of the mailing label report.
Here is what I need:
- Labels in zip code ascending order, keeping the leading 0 for zip codes like Maryland (01002) and sorting 9 digit numbers grouped with their 5-digit friends (27127 followed by 27127-1134 followed by 27127-1135, etc)
Would I need to make a formula or a subreport or what to get Crystal Reports to sort all of the US Mailing Labels by zip code correctly?
