Windows guest OS mouse in Virtual Box VM triggers host OS GNOME favourites bar

0

Ever since the upgrade from Ubtunu 16.04 to 18.04, I've been having the following issue in my Oracle Virtual Box VM Windows guest OS whenever mouse integration has been turned off. If the guest OS is not running a full screen application, then I will at worst just have the host OS's GNOME favorites bar pop up from time to time, without any harm causes to me other than the visual annoyance. However, if the guest OS is running something in full screen, then, particularly if I'm moving the mouse slowly to the left, the mouse will be stuck in place, usually halfway across the guest screen, and cause the GNOME favorites bar to pop up in the host OS. This freezing usually only lasts about a second, but on occasion I will find my mouse fighting against an invisible wall for a few seconds. The speed at which I move the mouse to the left seems to be particularly important here.

Now, I suspect that this is a GNOME issue and not a Virtual Box issue, but I can't seem to find any relevant settings that could be tweaked. So what can I do?
