How to properly set up FTP for a web development environment?
My goal is to be able to remote into a web development environment and code while using tools like Node.js, Apache, PHP, and WordPress. I want an existing user to have access. What I am trying to work out is, how would this development environment look like? Right now I am trying to focus on the remote access. SSH is already set up. I just want to be able to use FTP to transfer files back and forward. Debian is the distro that I am using.
I am stating all of this to give more context to what I am looking for because I do not how to set up FTP for a web server. Everything that I have searched online seems to be for a specified directory. I do not know if I use apache and node.js would I have to do something specific to be able to use FTP for both?
I apologize if this is not specific enough. I am trying to work out the details as I go. Thank you in advance.
