Can dd command damage Pendrive?

Using the command dd generally to obtain ISO images in pendrives for OS installation:

-Simply: dd if = / my_iso of = / sdx bs = 4M.

I already lost 2 Sandisk Cruzer Blade pendrives. These pendrives enter write-protect mode after many uses of this command.

I've tried everything. I can not get the Part-Number of the driver with the Genius Chip. I've tried all the software from AlcorMP, PNY, Gparted.

Any suggestion?
