User in group cannot write to directory (Working on my end when I test their credentials)
So I've been fixing some SFTP access issues today and I thought I had it all fixed up. I've created a folder in /public/ that is owned by root, and have given access to the subdirectories to the group 'editors'. Both of my editors' accounts have been tested (remote connection to the server on all users' ends) on my PC and have no problem uploading, modifying and deleting files.
My sshd_config has been set up to allow their usernames and has been configured to direct the group 'editors' to their home directory, which appears to be working.
Am I missing something? I feel like I'm being bamboozled but I don't know enough about this stuff to know for certain.
