Access AWS email server emails with mail client?

0

The steps I have taken so far are:

  • Verify domain in SES,

  • Verify email address in SES (pending)

  • Set-up recipient rule, receive emails in S3 bucket

  • Sent email to email address I hope to verify,

  • Viewed email in bucket.

Please suggest how to get to the next step:

  • I want to be able to access these emails in an email client, so that
I can verify the email - and use the email in this way in the future.

"Add the .eml extension to the end of the file name, and then open the file using an email client such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird." But how do I access the Storage of a particular email address in the client.

Sorry. Bit confused. (I have already come a long way so please go easy on me)

  • You can’t. SES is an email “sending” service. It is not designed for an email client and it is not an email service like you might use in gmail. Email clients download messages through POP3 and IMAP. SES supports neither. It is designed to receive messages and act on them programmatically through other AWS services. It is not intended to use a mail client with for reading emails. So, as stated, you can manually download the message (file) from S3 and change the file extension to .eml and open it in an email client. I’m not sure how there could be any advantage to doing that though.
