UDP client through terminal

i'm trying to connect to a udp server on the same machine the code of both server and client works fine !! but when i run the server program i have to run the client on the terminal or shell in order to communicate with the server but when i try




gcc main.c




i get bunch of errors which i don't understand why cause the program works just fine on code blocks !
can anyone help ?
