HP Officejet 6500 Wireless

I've got a HP Officejet 6500 Wireless and went to replace the black cartridge. Done this countless times before, but this time the cartridges riding on the carriage didn't stop in a place that I could pop in the new one. Perhaps unwisely I then inserted it while it was moving back and forth. Now it does show the black ink cartridge installed and seems ready to go, but when I press copy I get a "general printer error." Any suggestions?

  • I would suggest trying the troubleshooting steps here: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01658090. If none of that works then you may have damaged something in which case it's unlikely to be economical to repair, these printers have a limited life anyway due to the way they are designed.
